Cultural assembly

The assembly yesterday hosted by Year two was very colourful and it was great to see so many parents there. Thanks for coming. It really makes all our hard work worthwhile when there is an adult audience to support our students. Miss Hebstrom took this photo of the students in the ESOL group. I will post other photos as they become available. 

The number of nationalities represented in Year two is really quite amazing, as you will have heard at assembly. The variety of  costumes and dress, and the artifacts brought along added to a very happy celebration of our differences.

Dress up day 31st October 2014

We had a great fun on our dress up day today. It started with Discovery time and later in the day we painted mini beasts. Come into Room 2 see the results of our painting session.

We were vampires, Zoro, Spiderman, Little Miss Muffet, witches and various other spooky and wonderful things. Mrs B was a pirate. Zeyad had an amazing hat decorated with EYEBALLS!!

George had even made a Jack 'o' Lantern.

Wahoo! It's geometry ALL week this week and today we made shape pictures using 2D shapes.

Poetry week

We are reading and enjoying lots of poems this week. We are bring some home in our poem books to read to you. 
Here are all the WOW words we found in "The Firemen" by James K Baxter. We used this poem and also the little one, called Wind, to help us write our own fire engine poem.
