Poetry week

We are reading and enjoying lots of poems this week. We are bring some home in our poem books to read to you. 
Here are all the WOW words we found in "The Firemen" by James K Baxter. We used this poem and also the little one, called Wind, to help us write our own fire engine poem. 

Our poems are full of interesting and exciting WOW words. 

Teddy Bear Day

 Today was Teddy Bear Day. We brought our teddies to school and spent the day doing teddy activities. We took a teddy photo, see below. We made teddies in bed. Mrs B brought icing sugar and biscuits to school and we mixed up icing. We made bed sheets with white icing. then we put our Tiny Teddy to bed and covered him with blue icing for a duvet. We ate them after morning tea.

 Teddy Bear Day was a lot of fun. We wrote teddy stories and stuffed the paper teddy, we made teddy bears with tissue paper, we did teddy maths. What a lot of Teddy Time in Room 2 today!!

Some Room two boys on a wet day. What better occupation than creating a wonderful ship. It started as a throne for King Theo, but soon morphed into something entirely different.

Maritime Museum trip

Some words about our trip: interesting, fun, exciting, fantastic, amazing.

 Frazer was the teacher who told us about things to look for around the museum.

We went on a the Ted Ashby, an old sailing ship and we all wore life jackets to stay safe.

We ate lunch in an old boat called a dinghy which is a sand pit.

Last Friday I made this story because I made a cool valcro soldier in Discovery Time.

Term 4

Welcome back to school. I hope everyone had a great holiday.

Things to remember:
Spelling words come home on Fridays
Spelling book is in your book bag every day to LEARN the words
Test on Friday
Poem book is in your bag on Friday night to read the poems to an adult.
Reading log should be signed every night, when school reading material is read, including when poems are read.
Library day is Monday.

Lunches:
Let's try to have healthy lunches with minimum packaging. Packaged food usually contains high levels of either salt or sugar. No sweets and chocolates please.
